problem

Corporate usually faced with a disconnect between its public identity, business portfolio and its reprecussions towards society and/or the nature where its runs its business. Meanwhile, we are faced with real threat of our living sustainability.

solution

I spearheaded to implement the 17 SDGs into the corporate social responsibility programs—harmonizing the unified brand ecosystem under the tagline of "Essence of Excellence" (to which I also initiated), how the company running its operations (regulated bunch of technicalities), to orchestrating impactful events and programs that supports the 2030 sustainable development agenda.

In my role as Corporate Communication specialist, I viewed CSR not as a peripheral responsibility but as one of the core pillars of the corporate identity. My vision was to align the whole technical business operation with the 17 SDGs as best as the company could. While also benefiting us to distinguish our brand from its competitors. And my mission was to transform fragmented social initiatives into deliverable, measurable social values in line with the agenda without taking too much toll on the business's day-to-day operations. I aimed to engineer a purpose-driven narrative where every initiative served as a tangible manifestation of the company's commitment to sustainable, high-impact growth.

one of the CSR program (charity for the impoverished)

Traditionally, corporate social initiatives are either often perceived as disconnected or charitable afterthoughts rather than structural commitments that actually make an impact on what they stand for. The challenge was not only the gap between institutional success and social responsibility but also making bold impacts and statements in line with the brand and the agenda it stands for. Without a cohesive strategy, disparate acts of kindness—ranging from charity events to educational trips—risked losing their strategic resonance, failing to meaningfully contribute to the actual sustainability we aimed to uphold as well as to the brand and what it stands for in the matter.

My response to it was to restructure and architect the CSR framework meticulously mapped to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I synchronized our diverse the one-and-done charity initiatives into a sustainable, high-visibility programs, such as:

  1. Edu-Fun Day—where we took numbers of underprivileged kids to a educative programs teaching them about marine organisms trip and how to preserve them SDG 1, SDG 4, SDG 14);

  2. UMKM Bazaar—we collaborated with 30+ Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to provide food and beverages, and distributed 1,500 food vouchers for them to the hundreds of impoverished (SDG 2, SDG 8);

  3. Quarterly blood donation program—we collaborated with the PMI (local Indonesian red cross institution) to held an open-for-public blood donation in office area (SDG 4);

  4. Monthly charity ranged from the orphanage and/or the group home for disabled and contribution of food to school necessities to momentous charity, where we gave hundreds basic necessities packet (food and groceries) to the impoverished neighbourhood (SDG 1, SDG 2);

  5. Myriad regulations implemented company-wide: Gender-equality for leaders (SDG 5), Waste Management—both in the offices and the sites (SDG 6, SDG 13), Collaborations with other institutions for 17 SDG-focused CSR programs (SDG 17), and many others.
